Registration
The first step to using Free Link Magic is to register an account with us. When you visit http://www.freelinkmagic.com, you will see a large blue block on the right of the screen with a button labeled “Create Advertiser Account”. Click this button to be taken to the registration page.
You will then be asked to supply the following information. Note that items marked with an asterisk (*) are required fields.
*Login: Choose a Login name. This will be the username you log in to your Free Link Magic account with.
*Password: Choose a Password. This will be the password you log in to your Free Link Magic account with. A password should contain both alphabetic letters and numbers for ultimate password strength.
*Confirm Password: Re-type your chosen password.
*First Name: Type your first name.
*Last Name: Type your last name.
*Email: Enter a valid email address. You must be able to receive email from Free Link Magic in order to activate your account.
Address: Type your address (optional).
Phone: Type a telephone number where you can be reached (optional).
“Please send me updates via email”: If you'd like to receive free updates and newsletters from Free Link Magic, please click this Check Box.
“I also want to be an affiliate”: If you'd like to have an affiliate account and earn extra money as a member of Free Link Magic, please click this Check Box.
If you choose to be an affiliate, you will be asked to “Choose earning payment type” from a drop-down menu. Your options include Cheques or PayPal:
Cheque: Enter “Cheque Name” (The name your cheques should be written out to; personal name, company name, etc.). Then enter a “Cheque Address” (the address you'd like your cheques sent to).
PayPal: Enter your PayPal email address. If you do not have a PayPal account, you can create one, or choose to receive payments via Cheque.
“I have read and agree to the terms and conditions”: Be sure to click this Check Box or your registration cannot be completed.
Affiliate-Code: If you choose to be a Free Link Magic affiliate, you'll need to create an Affiliate Code. This code will appear in your affiliate links.
Captcha: The “captcha” is a small image that depicts a series of alphabteic letters and/or numerals. For security purposes, we ask that you enter the captcha exactly as it appears in the image.
Submit Registration: When the registration form is complete, press this button to submit your registration form and create your account.
After submitting, you should see a message stating that you're almost ready to use your new Free Link Magic account. A confirmation email is sent to the email address you provided. You will need to open the email and click on the link provided (or copy/paste the URL into your browser) in order to activate your account.
Login
Click the Login button on the menu. Type your Username and password in the space provided, under Advertiser Account. Click Login Now. If you have forgotten your password, please click Forgot Password, and we will send it to the email address provided when you signed up.
Once logged into your Free Link Magic account, you will have the following Menu Selections:
- Campaigns
- Marketing
- My Account
- Logout
Campaigns
In the Campaigns area, you will be able to View Current Campaigns and Add New Campaigns.
View Campaigns
In this section, you will see a list of all current campaigns. Each displays the name of the Campaign, your username, and the status of the campaign. Campaign Status is reflected by a Green Circle for Active Campaigns, or a Red Circle for Inactive Campaigns.
Within the View Campaign area, you will be able to Edit, Delete for View Statistics for each Campaign.
Edit: Change the Content Code(Text) for a Campaign. Optional changes include the Campaign Name, Title, Meta Keywords, Meta Description, Content, Product Link, Status (Active or Inactive), Direct Link and Direct Download Link. You may also use the Add New Text areas to create new text. This is the text other viewers will copy onto their own site to retrieve a copy of your free product. This text should contain a link to your own web site.
Delete: Delete a Campaign (Warning: once deleted, a campaign cannot be recovered).
View Statistics: Here, you will be able to view a complete statistics report for each Campaign. Note that this feature is only available to Professional Members.
Add Campaigns
If you have no current Campaigns, or would like to add another Campaign, use the Add Campaign button to create a new Campaign.
Please note that the free, Standard Edition of Free Link Magic allows only 1 Campaign per account. Upgrading to the Professional Edition grants unlimited Campaigns.
You will be asked to fill in the following areas.
Name: Give your new Campaign a Name.
Title: Give your new Campaign a Title.
Meta Keywords: Type in the keywords and/or keyword phrases for the Text of your Campaign. Please separate all keyword phrases with a comma (i.e. first keyword, next keyword, etc.) [62 character limit]
Meta Description: Please type a description for your Text. [69 character limit]
Content: Here will you add the content for the page describing your web site, product, service or whatever you'd like to say to encourage others to take advantage of your free product offering. Note that this is not the content they will be copy/pasting to their own web site to receive a free copy of your product. That text will be provided in a moment, under Text.
Product Link: Here you will provide the URL to a description of your free product.
Status: Choose the current status of this Campaign, Active or Inactive. You may change the Status of a Campaign at any time by Editing the Campaign, under View Campaigns.
Direct Link: Here you will provide a URL to a page that describes the free product that will be provided and the copy/paste requirements that a visitor must fulfill in order to receive the direct download link to your free product. Be sure to tell visitors that they must copy/paste the exact text and place it on its own page on their web site. Placing it in a blog post is easiest because it instantly creates its own page. They must then return to input the URL so that Free Link Magic can run a check for the text. If they fulfill the requirements, the direct download link will be provided.
Direct Download Link: Here you will provide a URL to the Direct Download of your free product. This URL will be supplied to users who complete the copy/paste requirements.
Add New Text: Here you will see 2 Text boxes in which to enter Text. You may use one or both text boxes, whichever suits you best. We recommend writing two, keyword-rich paragraphs relating to the content of your web site. The first paragraph would be a description. The second paragraph, located in the second text box, would be a brief invitation followed by a link to your web site. Be sure to add any desired HTML Coding, especially the portion of text that should be linked to your web site.
Submit: When you are done, click Submit to create the Campaign. You may submit an incomplete Campaign to save and return to it later in the Edit section under View Campaigns. Status ‘Inactive’ is recommended for incomplete Campaigns.
Marketing
The hub of your affiliate marketing campaign, this is where you’ll find all affiliate tools, marketing devices, creatives and statistics.
Please note that the free, Standard Edition of Free Link Magic does not include an Affiliate Program. Please upgrade to the Professional Edition to activate this feature.
View Affiliate Campaigns
Here you may view the statistics for all of your Affiliate Campaigns. Each campaign will reveal the number of Clicks and Registrations it has received. You will also have the ability to Edit and Delete affiliate campaigns from this screen.
Add Affiliate Campaign
This is the area in which all Affiliate Campaigns are created. You need only give the new affiliate program a Name, click Submit, and it will be created for you.
Banners & Links
Your creative marketing department, here you will find a variety of creatives to promote Free Link Magic. This section includes a Filtering System to sort through various banner Sizes and types, including Image banners and Flash banners.
Affiliate Stats
Like the ‘View Affiliate Campaigns’ section, here you can view all of the statistics for your Free Link Magic Affiliate Program. However, in this section, you’ll be able to filter through various statistics and options to pinpoint specific stats.
The filtering system allows you to choose one affiliate campaign, or as many as you wish, as well as a Single Day of activity, Calendar Month or specific Date Range.
To enter a Date Range, click the calendar icon next to Start Date and choose the day you’d like to begin viewing stats for, then click the calendar icon by End Date and choose the final day. You will be shown complete affiliate stats for the Start Date, End Date and every day in between.
Finally, you will be able to select which stats you’d like to view – Number of Clicks, Number of Registered Users or both – by clicking on the check-box next to each.
When ready, click Filter to view your Affiliate Statistics.
Commission Report
They say the proof is in the pudding, so we’ll call this the ‘Pudding’ section of your Free Link Magic account. Here you can view all monetary information regarding your Affiliate Program. The following statistics are shown:
Commission Rate%: The percentage-based number at which you are paid when a new user purchases Free Link Magic through your Affiliate Links.
Total Sales: The number of purchases made through your Affiliate Links.
Total Earned to Date: The total amount you have earned since joining the Free Link Magic Affiliate Program.
Pending Sales: The number of sales you have made that are not yet confirmed.
Pending Commission: The commission you are expected to receive from Pending Sales.
Approved Account balance: All commission monies you are currently owed. Past Payments and Pending Payments are not included in this section.
My Account
Here you may edit your account information, view your account status, make a payment or upgrade to the Free Link Magic Professional Edition.
View
In the View menu, you’ll be able to see all of your account information, including Login Name, Email, the Type of program you are using (Free/Standard or Professional Edition), and your Account Status (Active or Inactive). You can also Edit your account information and profile.
Edit: Here you can make any necessary changes to the personal information you provided when signing up a Free Link Magic account.
Login: Change your Login Name
Password: Change your Password
Confirm Password: Retype new Password
E-Mail: Your E-Mail address (Please supply valid email for important communications.)
First-Name: Your first name
Last-Name: Your last name
Phone: A phone number where you can be reached if necessary
Address: Your physical address (required for affiliate payments by Check/Cheque)
Type: The type of program you are using (Free/Standard or Professional); this attribute cannot be edited.
I Want to be an Affiliate: If yes, check the box here. If not, leave the box empty. Checking this box will open the following options:
Choose Earning Payment Type: Select Check/Cheque or PayPal. This is how you will receive your Affiliate Commission payments.
PayPal Email: If you chose to receive payments via PayPal, please supply your PayPal Email Address here.
Payments
Selecting the Payments menu item will give current paying members the option to Make a Payment. Free/Standard members will be given the option to upgrade to the Free Link Magic Professional Edition.
Logout
Click this button to log out of your Free Link Magic Account.
